Burlesque Academy: Bloomtastic Burlesque

Class Description

Instructor: Bleu Pearl Mondays, 8:45 PM -10:00 PM Semester Dates: 10/2-11/6 11/13-1/8 Off weeks: 12/4, 12/25 and 1/1 Twelve (12) weeks + student showcase Dress Rehearsal: 12/17 Student Showcase: 1/12 & 1/13 A beginner-friendly acro-chair series that focuses on flexibility, strength, balance, eye contact, and sensuality. Students will learn the proper body and leg positions. This series enables students to maintain and improve their range of motion to execute acro-chair moves safely, with minimal to no risk of injury. This series will include 40 minutes in acro, 20 minutes in dance, and the remaining time focusing on eye contact, connecting with ourselves so our movements flow effortlessly. What to bring: - Knee pads - Long socks - Heels - Water Student Learning Outcomes: - You will learn two choreographed routines - The importance of eye contact - Acro-chair tricks - Basic transitions Please be mindful of your attendance at all classes. Your attendance is essential for the group dance choreography. Included Workshops: - Backstage Etiquette & Professionalism - Burlesque History & Ethics - It's called Show Business - Pics, Reels, and Peels. Digital Media for Burlesque - The Burlesque Storyteller This semester, we are providing a complimentary photoshoot to Burlesque Academy students to help pump up your promo! The photoshoot date is October 14th, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM, & November 18th, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM with Blossum Cavessi. Cancellation Policy

You must notify Metropolitan Studios at least 3 hours before class starts, or class will be deducted from your account and considered “used” even though you were not present.
