Class Description

Instructor: Talloolah Love Tuesdays, 8:45 PM - 10:15 PM Semester Dates: 1/30 - 3/5 3/19 - 4/23 Off Week: 3/12 Twelve (12) weeks + student showcase Dress Rehearsal: 5/19 Student Showcase: 5/31 & 6/1 Talloolah Love teaches burlesque with an edge, exploring the deeper facets of dance expression in a group dynamic. Still sexy, still fun, but sometimes thought-provoking, statement-making, or just plain silly! Come prepared to move! Come prepared to think, but most of all, come prepared to dance! Items needed: For the first class, come in clothing that breathes and moves. Class requirements will be discussed from there. Student Learning Outcomes: - Evaluate movement skills in terms of space, time, and force, and reproduce accurately through your own body. - Analyze a dance performance in terms of choreography, performance, and theatrical elements. - Demonstrate clarity of intent while applying kinesthetic principles for all dance elements. - Atlanta School of Burlesque instructors will conduct a skill assessment, and those who meet performance criteria will be eligible to perform in the CBR Main Stage show. Included Workshops: - Advanced Costume Construction - Backstage Etiquette and Professionalism - Burlesque History and Ethics - The Burlesque Storyteller - Pics, Reels, and Peels: Digital Media for Burlesque This semester, we are providing a complimentary photoshoot to Burlesque Academy students to help pump up your promo! Cancellation Policy

You must notify Metropolitan Studios at least 3 hours before class starts, or class will be deducted from your account and considered “used” even though you were not present.
