Burlesque Academy Level II: Virtual
Instructor: Talloolah Love Mondays, 8:45pm-10:00pm Twelve (12) weeks + recital Semester Dates: 9/14 - 11/30 Student Recital: 12/18 This intermediate burlesque class is a chorus/ensemble-only series that focuses on cabaret dance and burlesque movement within-group dance routines. It is ideal that you have taken our Burlesque Level 1 (Academy) because it lays the foundation in burlesque vernacular. This dance class introduces musical theatre dance styles from the 1940s to the present. It includes the study of ballet, jazz, and tap techniques to prepare students for performance in musical theatre. Student Learning Outcomes: - Evaluate movement skills in terms of space, time, and force, and reproduce accurately through your own body. - Analyze a dance performance in terms of choreography, performance, and theatrical elements. - Demonstrate clarity of intent while applying kinesthetic principles for all dance elements. - Burlesque instructors will conduct a skill assessment, and those who meet performance criteria will be eligible to perform in CBR Main Stage or DebuTease Shows with an instructor. You must notify Metropolitan Studios at least 3 hours before class starts, or class will be deducted from your account and considered “used” even though you were not present.
