Class Description

Instructor: Ursula Undress Sundays, 1:30pm - 2:45pm Twelve (12) weeks + recital Semester Dates: 2/13 - 5/8 (no class 3/6) Dress Rehearsal: 5/7 Student Recital: 5/14 This advanced burlesque class introduces musical theater dance styles from the 1940s on, and focuses on cabaret dance and burlesque movement within group routines. We explore deeper character development and ensemble techniques, the study of ballet, jazz, and tap techniques to prepare students for performance in musical theater. This class is ideal for students from Levels 1 and 2 who show dance proficiency. Please be mindful of your attendance at all classes. Your attendance is essential for the group dance chorography. Students are expected to provide basic dance blacks - black character shoes, black fishnets, black bra, and black shorts.
