Class Description

Instructor: Roula Roulette Sundays, 7:15 PM - 8:15 PM 10/1-1/7 No class: 10/8, 12/24, 12/31 Twelve (12) weeks + recital Dress Rehearsal: 12/17 Student Recital: 1/12 & 1/13 This burlesque class focuses on the art of the strip tease! Join Roula Roulette as she guides you through sensual, sexy peels! Students in this course will be able to perform at the Spring Academy Student Showcase! This class is suitable for veteran and new strippers! Striptease familiarizes you with the fundamentals of creating a cohesive striptease performance, including: - Costuming Sourcing / Creation - Creating choreography that lends itself to a seamless reveal - Incorporate striptease & character development in a performance while maintaining dance form and formation. This class will guide students through the costume creation and sourcing process with emphasis on providing support in the construction process as well as culminating in a fully realized routine to be performed at the Student Showcase. Please be mindful of your attendance at all classes. Your attendance is essential for the group dance choreography. What to bring: - Dance/character shoes or strapped-toe shoes with a 2–3-inch heel. - Other acceptable footwear include jazz flats, salsa shoes, or barefoot. - Kneepads - Water Included Workshops: - Advanced Costume Construction - Basic Costume Construction - Pastie Making - Titty Twirls! Tassel Twirling 101 - Using Props Onstage This semester, we are providing a complimentary photoshoot to Burlesque Academy students to help pump up your promo! The photoshoot date is October 14th, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM, & November 18th, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM with Blossum Cavessi. Cancellation Policy

You must notify Metropolitan Studios at least 3 hours before class starts, or class will be deducted from your account and considered “used” even though you were not present.
