Where to start? Lola LeSoleil will help demystify our beloved burlesque props with this Look-What-I-Made introduction to feather fans. Part lecture, part crafting workshop, Fanwise DIY Express peeks into some history of these fanciful props and offers hands-on time to create a fluffy pair of static fans of your own to keep! Along with feather and fan history from around the world, we’ll explore fan dancing as an iconic burlesque style. We’ll walk through some options of materials for making feather fans and then get down to the DIY fun of constructing a pair of your own static (non-stave, non-collapsible) ostrich feather fans.
