Instructor: Val Goren 6/15 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM Pay-what-you-can HaHaHealing Through Comedy: A Workshop for Survivors & Allies. Empower yourself through laughter with local female comics! Join us for a unique, transformational workshop led by hilarious stand-up comedian Valerie Goren and her fellow funny women. This workshop is designed for survivors of domestic violence and their friends, offering a safe space to heal, connect, and discover the power of laughter. In this workshop, you will: -Learn the basics of stand-up comedy from experienced professionals. -Develop your comedic voice and writing skills. -Craft and share jokes in a supportive, empowering environment. (Jokes don't have to be about domestic violence!) -Bond with other survivors and friends through artistic expression. -Find healing and reclaim your power through laughter. -No prior experience is necessary! This workshop operates on a donation-based, pay-what-you-can model, making it accessible to all -------------------------------------------------------------------------- *I get questions from people who experienced verbal abuse from a child or parent. Yes, you are included.* "Domestic violence (also named domestic abuse or family violence) is violence or other abuse by one person against another in a domestic setting... Domestic violence can also involve violence against children, parents, or the elderly.
