Progressive Series 1: Burlesque I

Class Description

Instructor: Roula Roulette Wednesdays, 8:15 PM - 9:15 PM Four (4) weeks 10/4-10/25 This beginner burlesque class familiarizes you with burlesque language and movement, basic jazz dance moves such as three-step turns, pivots, box steps, and stage walks. Ideally, you have taken Burlesque Basics to become familiar with burlesque basics. It is an introduction to the movement skills used in jazz dance. It includes the use of dynamics in rhythm, sustained and percussive tension, and dramatic focus unique to jazz and burlesque. This is a chorus/ensemble dance-only series that focuses on group dance routines. You will learn to evaluate movement skills in terms of space, time, and force and reproduce accurately through the movement of your own body. Please be mindful of your attendance at all classes. Your attendance is essential for the group dance choreography. Cancellation Policy

You must notify Metropolitan Studios at least 3 hours before class starts, or class will be deducted from your account and considered “used” even though you were not present.
