Class Description

Instructor: Zara Estelle Sundays, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM 10/1-11/5 Six (6) week series Burlesque III is all about expanding our knowledge of choreography. This class is for dancers ready to learn advanced choreography and how to teach choreography to a class. You will not only spice up your dance vocabulary, but you will also prepare to create movement for yourself and others. This class is ideal for Burlesque I and II students who show dance proficiency. Only twelve (12) week Academy students will be performing in the end-of-semester recital for this particular class. Learning Objectives: - New ways of creating organic choreography - Various methods of teaching choreography with counts, sounds, metaphors, etc. - How to convey a message or story - Create a 7–12-minute group act as an ensemble - How to costume for a group Your attendance in all classes is essential for the group dance choreography. You will learn one number that will be choreographed as a group project. Each class will be taught on the same day every week (except the days listed above) for a total of twelve (6) weeks. What to bring: - Dance/character shoes or strapped toe shoes with a 2–3-inch heel. - Other acceptable footwear include jazz flats, salsa shoes or barefoot. - Water - Kneepads
