Storybased Burlesque

Class Description

Instructor: Catty Wompass Saturday, 3/5/2022 at 10:00 am 1 hour $20 Consciously or not, your choreography tells the story of your persona, and knowing your persona can help your ideas for choreography flow. The first step to improving an act is understanding this storytelling process, uncovering what motivates your song and choreography choices, and learning how to harness that creative power. In this class, we will develop choreography using a lyrics-based technique, either revising an existing act or creating a new one from scratch (up to you!). Catty Wompass is a classic beauty with a sapphic appetite! While based in Chicago, she performs and teaches all over the Midwest and co-produces Bawdy Bawdy Ha Ha, the premier burlesque and variety show in Iowa City. She won the title Most Enchanting at the Great Burlesque Exposition and Best Collaboration at the Minnesota BurlyPicks. She’ll steal your heart and your girlfriend — she's just a little askew — she's Catty Wompass!

Cancellation Policy

You must notify Metropolitan Studios at least 3 hours before class starts, or class will be deducted from your account and considered “used” even though you were not present.
