Class Description

Instructor: Talloolah Love Schedule: Tuesdays, 8:45 PM - 10:15 PM Dates: 4 (four) week series 6/10-7/1 Refresher Rehearsal: 7/8 8:45 PM - 10:00 PM Dress Rehearsal: 8/8 Student Showcase: 8/22 & 8/23 Price: $125 This is an all-levels course that delves into the essentials of chair choreography through the lens of learning a full dance from beginning to end. Students will learn about transitions, tricks, and logistics while also learning a choreography to tell a story that will be performed at the end of the summer semester! There will also be a moment in the choreography where each student will have a moment to shine with a few eight counts of a solo that they will write with the guidance of the teacher during the four week session. Students will also work with the teacher on basic costumes for the ensemble to look cohesive on stage. Talloolah Love celebrates her 23 years in burlesque this year. She helped start the very first burlesque school in Atlanta in 2006, and has taught classes all over the world in multiple disciplines including dance, theory, history, hair, and crafts. She is one of the original teachers at The Atlanta School of Burlesque and her expertise and experience has inspired and motivated some of the most successful burlesque performers in Atlanta. This class is inspired by the class she taught at the Burleskiwi festival in New Zealand of May this year, but is expanded to a full four-week series that will culminate in the students performing a full piece that they assist in choreographing in full. Student outcomes: • Chair choreography • Transitions • Storytelling through performance • Collaboration techniques to utilize what you've learned in class •Ensemble work What To Bring: • Comfortable, form-fitting attire • Water * Knee pads recommended, but will not be present in the performance.
