The Candybox Revue Presents: Politics NOT Aside

The Candybox Revue is getting on our political soapbox, stripping down and speaking out to make the world a better place. Come see our take on today’s most important political topics!

Enough is enough. The Candybox Revue’s “Politics NOT Aside” is a burlesque and variety show that confronts the many issues and fears we are facing in our current political climate.

Through burlesque, poetry, dance, and performance art, the Candybox Revue will explore the intricacies of our identities, relationships with our bodies and sexuality, the violence our loved ones are facing, and shine a light on civil and human rights that are threatened on a daily basis.

Topics explored include racism and racial stereotypes, blackness, queerness, gender expectations, women’s rights, reproductive rights, fat phobia and fat acceptance, and violence in schools.
