Beginner Feather Fans with Lola LeSoleil 8-Week Series | June 10 – August 12 Wednesdays • 7:00 – 8:30 PM Note: All classes move to Creatorspace starting July 1 Tuition: $250 Production Dates at Creatorspace: Dress Rehearsal: Thursday, August 20 Student Showcase: Sunday, August 30 A new introductory fan dance series for absolute beginners and aspiring flutterers! Through foundational techniques and group choreography, students will explore feather fan dancing - one of the most popular burlesque and cabaret styles of Golden Age Burlesque. This 8-week series, taught by Lola LeSoleil includes strength and flexibility development, fan poses and transitions, and focuses on the art of the tease in a group choreography to showcase your new skills. NOTE: A limited number of fans are available for in-class use, or provide your own. For information about purchasing your own set of fans, take a peek at my Burlesque Feather Fan Buying Guide. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows free movement. Recommended footwear includes character shoes, moderate 2-3” heel strapped shoes, jazz flats or salsa shoes. STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES: 1. Evaluate movement skills in terms of space, time, and force, and reproduce accurately through their own body. 2. Analyze a dance performance in terms of choreography, performance, and theatrical elements. 3. Incorporate performance fan props while maintaining dance form and formation. 4.
