
Progressive Series 2: Burlesque III
Class Description
Instructor: Zara Estelle Mondays, 8:15 PM - 9:30 PM Six (6) week series Series 2: 2/23 - 3/30 Dress Rehearsal: 3/21 Student Showcase: 4/11 Burlesque III will help you gain trust in your body while learning how to tease and peel, use props, do chair and floor tricks, and spice up your dance vocabulary. You will learn various styles of dance to incorporate into a piece for that extra pizzazz. Burlesque III is ideal for students from Burlesque I and Burlesque II who show dance proficiency. Your attendance at all classes is essential for the group dance choreography. Students are expected to provide basic "dance blacks" - black character shoes, black fishnets, black bra, and black shorts. Student Learning Outcomes: • Learn one classic or one conceptual/modern burlesque act • Master the art of the tease and peel for impactful reveals • Incorporate props into your routines with skill and intention • Expand your dance vocabulary What to Bring: • Dance/character shoes or strapped toe shoes with a 2–3-inch heel. • Other acceptable footwear includes jazz flats, salsa shoes, or barefoot. • Kneepads • Water About Us: Drenched 110 years of charm, Metropolitan Studios Arts & Movement Community is an affordable creative space in the heart of Atlanta’s East Atlanta Village. Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel your booking, you must notify Metropolitan Studios at least 3 hours before class starts, or class will be deducted from your account and considered “used” even though you were not present.
