Burlesque III
Course Description
Burlesque III is all about expanding our knowledge of choreography. This course is for dancers ready to learn advanced choreography, and how to teach choreography to a class. You will spice up your dance vocabulary and prepare to create movement for yourself and others.
This course is ideal for students from Burlesque I and II who show dance proficiency.
All creative work made in this series is the property of The Atlanta School of Burlesque.
Students are expected to provide basic "dance blacks" (black character shoes, black fishnets, black bra, and black shorts).
Learning Outcomes
An original act choreographed by Zara Estelle
A group act choreographed by you and your peers
Different techniques of developing choreographic movements, blocking, and storyline
Various methods of teaching choreography with counts, sounds, metaphors, etc.
Various ways to teach and translate the language of movement to your classmates
How to convey a message or story
How to costume for a group
What to Bring
Dance/character shoes or strapped toe shoes with a 2–3-inch heel.
Other acceptable footwear includes jazz flats, salsa shoes, or barefoot.
