Zara Estelle is all about expanding our knowledge of choreography! This class is for dancers ready to learn advanced choreography and how to teach choreography to a class. You will not only spice up your dance vocabulary and prepare to create movement for yourself and others.
This class is ideal for students from Burlesque I and II who show dance proficiency. Your attendance in all classes is essential for the group dance choreography. You will learn 2 different choreographies: one classic and one conceptual/modern.
Each class will be taught on the same day every week (with the exception of the days listed above) for a total of twelve (12) weeks broken into two (2) six-week sessions, with the exceptions of the dates listed above.
Students are expected to provide basic "dance blacks" - black character shoes, black fishnets, black bra, and black shorts.
Learn two (2) choreographed routines.
Learn to evaluate movement skills in terms of space, time, and force, and reproduce accurately through your own body.
Analyze a dance performance in terms of choreography, performance, and theatrical elements.
Demonstrate clarity of intent while applying kinesthetic principles for all dance elements.
Receive a skill assessment. Those who meet performance criteria may be eligible to perform in a Candybox Revue burlesque stage show or future student showcase with an instructor.
