Burlesque III

Course Description
Burlesque III is where confidence and technique meet bold expression. This semester-long course challenges students to expand their movement vocabulary and deepen their trust in their bodies while exploring the quintessential elements of burlesque performance.
Students will learn:
The art of tease and peel with costuming
Creative use of props to enhance storytelling
Chair and floor work techniques to elevate stage presence
Ways to integrate multiple dance styles into burlesque choreography for maximum flair
This course culminates in choreographed routines that highlight versatility, personal style, and showmanship. Burlesque III is designed for students who have successfully completed Burlesque I and II and are ready to demonstrate proficiency in dance technique and performance skills.
Students are expected to provide basic "dance blacks" - black character shoes, black fishnets, black bra, and black shorts.
Learning Outcomes
Learn 2 different choreographies: one classic and one conceptual/modern.
Master the art of the tease and peel for impactful reveals
Incorporate props into your routines with skill and intention
Expand your dance vocabulary
What to Bring
Dance/character shoes or strapped toe shoes with a 2–3-inch heel.
Other acceptable footwear includes jazz flats, salsa shoes, or barefoot.
